My Council Priorities - Back to Basics

Serving this city has been the greatest honor of my political career. Over the past few years, we have done the heavy lifting and achieved true fiscal stability. Because we have been responsible with the budget, we now have the foundation to shift and move forward with a clear, renewed focus.
I am running for reelection because I believe a great city isn't defined by flashy promises or political noise—it’s defined by how well it serves its residents every single day. My mission for this coming term is simple:

I believe the city’s primary responsibility is to master its essential mandates. We need to shift our focus to the core services that impact your property values, your safety, and your quality of life.
-
Public Safety First
A community cannot thrive unless it is safe. Ed will continue working to ensure Claremont’s police officers and emergency personnel have the staffing, training, and technology they need to keep neighborhoods secure and response times fast. Supporting first responders protects families, strengthens community trust, and helps ensure Claremont remains one of the safest cities in the region.
-
Parks & Sports Fields
Claremont’s parks are the gathering places of the community. Ed is committed to keeping parks clean, safe, and well-maintained while upgrading sports fields and recreational facilities so families, athletes, and residents have spaces they can take pride in. Strong parks strengthen community life and help keep Claremont a great place to live.
-
Supporting Seniors & Youth
A healthy community supports both the people who built it and the young people who will lead it next. Ed continues to work to revitalize community centers and expand programs for seniors while continuing to invest in youth programs that provide safe spaces and opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.
-
Infrastructure That Works
Residents deserve roads, sidewalks, and public spaces that are safe and well-maintained. Ed supports a long-term strategy to repair streets, maintain sidewalks, and protect Claremont’s urban forest so the city remains beautiful, safe, and functional.
-
Long-Term Financial Stability
Responsible leadership means responsible finances. Ed supports maintaining balanced budgets and strengthening city reserves to ensure Claremont can maintain essential services and respond to emergencies without raising taxes on residents. Strong financial management protects the city today and prepares it for the future.
